There is an art to rowing a boat in a straight line! Just west of Ashley Terrace bridge, Edinburgh, groups of foreign students from a local language school amuse themselves in rowing boats on the Union Canal and head roughly in the direction of Craiglockhart. It can be reported that all returned safely to dry land.
