Founded in 1842, Staffordshire Police covers an area of over 1,000 square miles. The county has a population of more than a million with a rich diversity of communities, all with specific policing needs.

The force is divided into eleven Local Policing Teams.

Staffordshire Police's mission is to keep our communities safe and reassured.

Needwood Neighbourhood

Needwood covers the heart of rural East Staffordshire and includes a mix of attractive villages all with long-standing rural traditions.

There are plenty of traditional pubs and excellent village schools including John Taylor High school at Barton under Needwood.

Sports facilities such as the Holland Sports club and the newly completed canal side marina complex at Barton under Needwood attract thousands of visitors.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB), linked to drug misuse is a key priority for the area.

We attended an open public meeting to understand community concerns. We are aware that the ASB and drug issues tend to increase over the summer months and, as such, we will be increasing our policing presence over the next three months in the town centre. Our work on this is ongoing.

We have recently attended a large public meeting where many residents came to convey their concerns. As a result, our road crime team has spent some time in and around the area with a number of traffic interventions. Our officers are also conducting initiatives in the area that will pay attention to speed and safety.
