Response (3 Nov 2025)

This is a priority for the next 3 months. We have identified this based on feedback from local residents, crime data, and ongoing concerns in the area.

We’ll publish an update in the coming months to let you know what we’ve done, what progress has been made, and what’s next.

3 Nov 2025

Highways obstructions.

Response (23 Jan 2026)

Residents have raised concerns about highway obstructions in the area. Two key locations have been identified: Royal Engineers Road and Sandling Lane.

On Royal Engineers Road, near the roundabout with Springfield Avenue, the stretch of road is a Clearway. This means vehicles must not stop or park at any time. Drivers have been stopping as they exit the main road, before reaching the double yellow lines further along. Officers have left notices on vehicles, but the issue is still happening.

Sandling Lane is a different situation. Vehicles are parking legally because there are no road markings or restrictions, meaning police cannot enforce action. Advice has been given to drivers where possible.

There have been no reports to police about highway obstructions in the last quarter, but officers continue to monitor both locations.

3 Nov 2025

Drug dealing.

Response (23 Jan 2026)

Residents have raised concerns about drug dealing at a specific location reported to both Kent Police and Maidstone Borough Council. Officers have patrolled this area many times, but no drug?related activity has been seen during these visits. Patrols will continue to monitor the location and respond to any further reports.

3 Nov 2025

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Response (23 Jan 2026)

Residents have reported an increase in nuisance?related antisocial behaviour. Most of these incidents involve a small number of individuals. Officers have identified those responsible and appropriate interventions have been put in place to reduce further issues.

3 Feb 2026

Catapults.

Response (30 Mar 2026)

Officers continue to take action when reports are received about young people using catapults. Where appropriate, stop and search powers are used to help identify those involved.

Referrals are made to families, schools and the Child‑Centred Policing Team to help address behaviour early and prevent further issues.

We are also working with Maidstone Borough Council and other partner organisations to agree the best approach to keeping the river area safe, particularly during the summer months when use of the area increases.

3 Feb 2026

Drug taking.

Response (30 Mar 2026)

Targeted patrols are being carried out using information provided by members of the public.

3 Feb 2026

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Response (30 Mar 2026)

Police patrols have been increased, with local officers assigned to specific reports of antisocial behaviour. Officers are working closely with housing providers to identify those involved and encourage early intervention to prevent behaviour from continuing.

Interventions used include Community Protection Warnings, Community Protection Notices and injunctions. A Community Protection Warning is a formal written warning telling someone to stop behaviour that is having a negative impact on the community. If the behaviour continues, a Community Protection Notice can be issued, which is a legal notice requiring the behaviour to stop. Injunctions can also be used in more serious or persistent cases to restrict certain behaviour.

14 Apr 2026

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Response (3 Jul 2026)

In response to concerns about antisocial behaviour, we have increased patrols in the area and assigned dedicated local officers to address issues and provide reassurance. A recent community engagement event was well attended, giving residents the opportunity to discuss their concerns directly with officers and help shape local policing priorities. A further event is planned for later this summer.

Officers have also been carrying out regular visits to two addresses linked to reports of disorder and antisocial behaviour. Working closely with housing providers, we are taking steps to address the underlying issues and prevent further offending. This partnership approach is helping to reduce antisocial behaviour and improve the quality of life for local residents.

14 Apr 2026

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Response (3 Jul 2026)

My Community Voice (MCV) posters have been distributed across the area to encourage residents to sign up for local policing updates. MCV provides a quick and easy way for residents to report concerns, receive crime prevention advice and stay informed about policing activity in their community. Increasing engagement through MCV helps officers better understand local issues and ensures residents receive timely information about matters affecting their area.

14 Apr 2026

Highways obstructions.

Response (3 Jul 2026)

There have been continued reports relating to the same locations. However, enforcement can be challenging due to the road layout and the limitations of current traffic legislation. Officers have spoken with drivers where appropriate and provided advice regarding safe and considerate parking. The situation will continue to be monitored, and further action will be taken where offences are identified.
