Question Asked

To ask the Minister for Women and Equalities, what assessment the Government has made of the potential effect of the proposed reduction in funding on the work of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Answer

The Equality and Human Rights Commission performs an important and valuable role. Its Chair, David Isaac, and his Board are well equipped for this task.

The Commission receives – and will continue to receive – sufficient funds to enable it to fulfil its full range of statutory functions.
