PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
(7 September 2026)

Question Asked

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the implications for her Department’s policies of the report by the NAO entitled Resilience of the food supply chain to disruptions, published on 4 September 2026.

Asked by:
Helen Morgan (Liberal Democrat)

Answer

The NAO's report shows risks to food supplies are becoming more complex, which is exactly why we are working with farmers and the food and drink industry to strengthen the UK’s food security and resilience.

The Government will carefully consider the report’s findings and recommendations as part of our ongoing work to build a more resilient, productive and sustainable food system.
