Prisons: Ethnic Groups (29 March 2023)

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what steps he is taking to address the findings of the report by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons entitled The Experiences of Black Male Prisoners and Black Prison Staff, published in December 2022.

HMPPS take the findings of reports from His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons seriously. We recognise that improving outcomes for Black prisoners and staff will require a long-term commitment from the entire organisation.
