PARLIAMENTARY WRITTEN QUESTION
Sri Lanka: Sexual Offences (30 October 2019)
Question Asked
Asked by:
Sarah Champion (Labour)
Answer
The British Government has been pleased by the level of interest generated by its decision earlier this year to host the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI) International Conference Time for Justice: Putting Survivors First.
However, as the conference would have coincided with the pre-election period, it has been postponed until 2020. We look forward to the participation of a wide range of stakeholders, including survivors of sexual violence in conflict.
Ministers remain fully committed to realising PSVI objectives and strengthening the multi-stakeholder partnership that has been steadily built over the last seven years to tackle sexual violence in conflict, and pioneer a survivor-led approach
