PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CIVIL LIBERTIES AND THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE (3 June 1992)
Motion Details
That this House is deeply concerned at the growing number of Health Service employees who are being sacked for exercising their consciences and speaking out against the lowering of standards in patient care; notes the aggressive management techniques being introduced by the trust managers including gagging clauses in employment contracts which intimidate staff into silence; and accordingly condemns the Leader of the House for his response to the honourable Member for Halifax in which, for political purposes, he sought to trivialise this important issue of civil liberties.
