PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CORPORAL PUNISHMENT IN SCHOOLS (29 March 1993)

Motion Details

That this House notes the need for increased discipline of unruly pupils in United Kingdom schools; therefore welcomes the recent ruling of the European Court with regard to their decision that it is legal for independent schools to discipline their fee-paying pupils with corporal punishment; and believes that this form of punishment should be made available to all schools including the state funded sector.
