PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BIODIVERSITY (14 February 2006)
Motion Details
That this House notes the EU commitment to halt biodiversity loss by 2010; believes that biodiversity enriches lives and provides vital services on which humans depend; recognises a duty to conserve wildlife and to leave a country rich in biodiversity for future generations; and therefore urges the Government to take the necessary steps to end the decline in biodiversity action plan species and habitats, to protect and manage the finest wildlife sites on land and sea, to reverse the decline in the wildlife of farmland, woodland, grassland, rivers and other habitats, and to ensure that all school children gain experience of the natural world through out-of-classroom learning as an integral part of school education.
