PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
20 MILES PER HOUR LIMITS OUTSIDE SCHOOLS (27 July 1997)

Motion Details

That this House recognises the dangers to children from speeding vehicles outside schools; believes a reduction in speed limits from 30 to 20 m.p.h. would reduce both the number and severity of casualties; and calls for local highway authorities to be given the power to introduce 20 m.p.h. limits outside schools without the need to seek approval from the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions.
