leave out from `House' to end and add `welcomes the selection of the Conservative parliamentary candidate in the Uxbridge by-election, a long-standing resident and shopkeeper in Uxbridge, who has campaigned for the protection of the Green Belt and on local issues, who has the support of local people, and local Conservative councillors, none of whom have resigned over the choice of candidate, and who has made his views clear on local issues including the future of grant-maintained schools; and believes that parliamentary democracy is strongest when those who aspire to join this House listen to and are representative of local people and their views.'.
