PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BBC RADIO'S THE WEEK'S GOOD CAUSE (4 March 1998)
Motion Details
That this House notes with concern that the BBC is proposing to halve the time given to the weekly radio programme, The Week's Good Cause, and to move the BBC's longest-running programme to two new broadcasts, one being an earlier time on Sunday morning and the other buried late in the midweek schedule; expresses its well-grounded fears that these less advantageous broadcasting times will result in the programme raising less money for worthwhile charities; and calls on the governors of the BBC to reconsider the said proposals and invites them to retain The Week's Good Cause at its existing weekly position.
