Lerwick: postbox № ZE1 86, Norstane
A small postbox serving a fairly modern housing estate high on the slopes to the north of the town. Beyond it we see the northern part of the dockside, rather mistily as everything tended to be seen today!

Lerwick: postbox № ZE1 124, South Gremista Industrial Estate
The UK's northernmost example of a 'Type K' postbox, which was introduced in 1980. It serves an industrial estate in the northern outskirts of town.
Like all boxes in Lerwick, there are two weekday 'final collection' times, one for off-islands next-day delivery (11:30am) and one for Shetland items (5pm). The single advertised Saturday collection is 3:15pm.

Lerwick: houses in Holmsgarth
Looking landward from the Northlink ferry just before it departs for Aberdeen on a sunny evening. This terrace of houses runs up the hill between Holmsgarth Road and North Road and the pitch of the roof catches the evening sun, as does a large roof of a unit in South Gremista Industrial Estate, in the distance.

Common Ivy (Hedera helix), Lerwick
Ivy is not native to Shetland, but is quite commonly planted. This rather variegated specimen is growing on a cliff beside the Shetland Hotel.
