Lerwick Power Station
An oil-powered generator, hence the storage tanks. The small beach is virtually the only place on the west shore of Bressay Sound that hasn't been turned into a dock, harbour or pier.

Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus), Holmsgarth, Lerwick
A common seaweed around British coast. Although they photosynthesise like plants, the seaweeds are now usually placed in a separate kingdom, along with other algae. Seaweeds themselves are a diverse group, which are not all closely related.

New quay beside Lerwick Power Station
The newly-constructed quay fills the only natural piece of coast between the Lodberries at the south end of Lerwick harbour and Rova Head at the north.
