Also in the photo is the first roundabout to be built in Shetland. When it was built in the 1990s there were several weeks of adverts in the local newspaper telling people how to use it.

Old tin building, Commercial Road, Lerwick
I have no idea of the history of this building, or its current use, but it is the sort of old tin building which was once common around the docks in Lerwick, but which have largely disappeared.

Gurkha Kitchen, Commercial Road, Lerwick
Formerly a shop, the building has housed a restaurant since about 1991. It has usually been an Indian of some sort, apart from a very brief spell as an Italian. The Gurkha Kitchen, which serves Indian and Nepalese food, has been there for a good while - certainly 5 years or more. See also http://shetlopedia.com/Gurkha_Kitchen
