Junior Jarl Squad - Up Helly Aa
In addition to the main event, there is a junior Up Helly Aa festival with its own galley, Jarl and a squad made up of boys. The Junior Jarl for 2017 was Brandon Talukder, who portrayed King Harald Sugurdssun (better known as Harald Hardrada),seen here leading his squad along Commercial Road.

Magazine and Shifting Room, Fort Charlotte
The plan of Fort Charlotte which is provided as an information board at the site, marks the building just seen on the right here as the Shifting Room where powder could be shifted from a damaged barrel into a new one before being safely stored in the main magazine. I think that the building to its left is the Magazine itself where the powder was stored. The plan does not explicitly say this, but these two rooms are surrounded by a blast wall, making this supposition a reasonable one. The tightness of the area enclosed by this blast wall made taking a wider view of these buildings impossible with my camera.
