Former railway crossing over Lowmoor Road
Once a level crossing on the Selby and Market Weighton Line.

Cliffe Common railway station (site), Yorkshire
Believed to have been opened in 1851 by the North Eastern Railway on the line from Market Weighton to Selby, this station closed to passengers in 1954 and completely in 1964. View east towards Menthorpe Gate and Market Weighton. This was also the junction for the Derwent Valley Light Railway from 1913 to 1926 (although goods traffic continued for longer).

Former station at Cliffe Common, 1988
View eastward, towards Market Weighton etc. on ex-NER Selby - Market Weighton - Bridlington line, closed 14/6/1965. This substantial station house had been on the Down side of this line, the station having been closed earlier (20/9/1954). Cliffe Common had also been the terminus of the Derwent Valley Light Railway from York (Layerthorpe), until 1/9/1926 when passenger services ceased - after only 13 years, but the DVLR carried goods traffic to Cliff Common until 9/2/1965, when it was cut back to York in stages, finally ending on 27/9/1981.
