Lingham Lane into Dishforth
Lingham Lane leads into the quiet village of Dishforth, which although close to the A168 dual carriageway and the A1 motorway is something of a backwater since its road to the south was closed for the construction of Dishforth airfield in WW2. If you go back as far as 1921, the junction ahead was once with the A1 which originally passed through this village before heading towards Topcliffe and Northallerton. The road later became the A167 before being relegated even further.

Boroughbridge Road, Dishforth
This quiet 'dead end' lane was once the A167 and for a short time in the 1920's, the A1. The building of the nearby airfield in WW2 cut the road, and the link has never been restored.
