For a relatively small village, Hutton has a wealth of shops, but most of there are of the gift shop type to appeal to tourists. The Shop on the Green is perhaps a little more like a traditional village store.

Hot competition?
Seen across a rather snowy green are 'The Barn Tea Rooms' and 'The Forge Tea Rooms' next door to each other. Neither were open on this February day, thus saving a decision over which to choose for the toasted teacake and mug of tea.
