A grade II listed house and shop dating from the mid C18. Coped gable end to street in painted brick with raised quoins, and a moulded string course at first and attic levels. Coursed rubble sandstone to sides. Pantile roof with shaped kneelers and centre chimney stack. LBS No: 328413

National Westminster Bank, 12, Market Place
A grade II listed 2-storey house, now a bank, dated C18. In red brick to front with ashlar quoins, on a stone plinth, end walls rendered. Pantile roof with coped gables, shaped kneelers and end brick chimney stacks. Gable wall to right has C19 canted bay. LBS No: 328412

A grade II listed house dated late C18/early C19 of 3-storeys and basement, built in brick, with a 3 storey, canted bay to left. A moulded eaves cornice to a slate roof with brick stacks. Recessed door in open pediment on brackets. Late C18/early C19 cast-iron railings to front, ramped up on entrance steps. LBS No: 328388

Market Cross, Crown Square
Probably dates from the seventeenth century. Its position may seem a little odd being away from the Market Square but it is clear that the Market Square has been encroached upon by later buildings and the Market Cross left stranded.
