A grade II listed building comprising of two houses, now an hotel, dated mid C17 and early C19. Constructed in roughly squared coursed sandstone, with a pantile roof and brick stacks.

Monument in the Town Square, Helmsley
See Image for details. Like many small Yorkshire towns and even villages, Helmsley has a large open space in the centre, which can be anything from a village green to a market square. Here, the 'Royal Oak' is seen on the far side of the square, reflecting the Royalist support here during the Civil War.
