Where's the path?
A grassy strip down the middle of this field is the easiest route to walk, but the map would suggest that the true line of the footpath is a few metres to the left in the middle of the crops.

Holbeck
Holbeck is the principal drain for an area of low ground forming a long thin triangle between the Howardian Hills to the south and the easternmost ridge of the Hambleton Hills to the north. Several sections of the beck run through an artificial channel - as shown here.

A good flow on the Holbeck
A recent clean up. you cross this farm bridge on the footpath down off Caulkleys Bank to Beech Tree House.The Holbeck runs into the River Rye.
