Minor Road, Raskelf
The minor road towards Easingwold. Beside the road is a K6 type telephone box. In 1935, the Post Office commissioned a new kiosk from Sir Giles Gilbert Scott to celebrate the Jubilee of King George V. The K6 Jubilee Kiosk, as it is known, was similar to the K2 box, being made of cast iron and painted red but was 25% lighter in weight. By the end of the 1930s there were 20,000 K6 telephone boxes in use all over the UK.

Village Pinfold, Raskelf.
There are a number of villages in North Yorkshire which still have their pinfolds. These are places where straying cattle, sheep etc. could be 'locked up' until their owner retrieved them, after paying a small fine. This one dates from the 18th century.

Pinfold, Raskelf
Built of local brick in the late 18th century. The pinfold was restored in the 1970s. In former times pinfolds or pounds were often built by a parish and the animals were kept there until their owners had paid for any damage caused by them. Parish pinfolds or pounds are not longer maintained, but the word is still used to describe an enclosure built to hold cattle or sheep.
