RAF Tholthorpe Watch Office.
This is the original Watch Office at Tholthorpe (Watch Office for Bomber Satellite Stations 13079/41), which in use before Tholthorpe was upgraded in 1942/43 and allocated to No 6 RCAF Group. The Building is moderately unsafe and the ceiling has fallen in.

RAF Tholthorpe. Romney Hut
RAF Tholthorpe was 2 miles west of Easingwold. It opened in August 1940 in No 4 Group as a satellite for Linton-on-Ouse and was developed in 1942-3 into a full bomber airfield and allocated to No 6 (RCAF) Group as a sub-station for No 62 Base (Linton-on-Ouse). The airfield closed in June 1945 after the departure of the Canadians. Most of the facilities were dismantled, much of the concrete was dug up from the runways and a minor road running almost north-south across the site was reopened. Today it is used for agriculture and light industry. This wartime Romney hut is used as a paintshop for Stephensons coaches.

RAF Tholthorpe. .Former Bombing Teacher
AML Bombing Teacher - quite a few of these distinctive 2-storey buildings survive but none with their original equipment still fitted. This one, I believe is derelict.

On the Moor Lane Industrial Estate
Most of the buildings on the site belonged to Tholthorpe Airfield, which was in use during the 2nd World War by the Canadian Airforce. The base was closed soon afterwards.
The remaining structures are still in use, forming premises for various small businesses.
