According to Pevsner, the bridge is of Magnesian Limestone [presumably from near Tadcaster] and is late 17th century. It spans the River Derwent.

Swan Attack at Sutton Bridge
The swan was floating downriver through the bridge when it decided it did not like me. it came straight at me but stopped at the river bank about 5 feet below me. I retreated, god knows what it will be like in the mating season!
