Honesty box and muck heap, Moor Lane
Making a change from selling eggs, this honesty box is for selling bird feeders. The muck heap is just on the eastern edge of Newton-on-Ouse.

Estate cottages, Newton on Ouse
One would guess that this row of cottages, with tudor style chimneys, was built as accommodation for workers on the Beningbrough estate. Another row in similar style stands across the street. A pity that some of the original windows have been replaced by a more modern type, thus spoiling the house fronts.

Village Hall, Newton on Ouse
A nice little Victorian building which was once a school, but which school? A description of the village, dated 1890 describes two schools, one being a neat red brick building, with residence attached, in the Gothic style and erected in 1854. This one would appear to fit the description, but there is another just around the corner [see other photo].
