A dignified range of 4 storey buildings with basements, built to a design by John Dobson of Newcastle c1850. It was never finished, the matching western half remains unbuilt.

Bram Stoker stayed here
The house on Royal Crescent, Whitby, where Bram Stoker stayed from 1890 to 1896. He was working for Henry Irving, the actor and theatrical impresario, at the time and wrote 'Dracula', originally a play called 'The Undead', during this period.
