Telephone exchange, pipework
I have no idea what these pipes carry, but is noteworthy that the supports include rollers that allow for their unrestrained expansion and contraction. A fine crown of thorns provides a deterrent to would-be climbers.

River Foss, York
Looking towards Foss Bridge which was designed by Peter Atkinson the younger, and erected in 1811-12, replacing a wooden bridge. The bridge was once the site of a fish market.

Fossgate, looking south
A street of specialist shops, restaurants etc. On the left of the street can be seen a range of building styles with a jettied timber framed building of about 1600 near the centre of the photo. beyond can be seen the ornate arched entrance to the former Electric Theatre, which was York's first purpose built cinema.
