Coppergate Walk, York
Pedestrian access to, and part of, the Coppergate shopping centre, running south-east from Coppergate itself. It has adopted the almost ubiquitous practice of suspending umbrellas over the street. This is said to have originated in the Portuguese town of Águeda, as both a surreal art installation and a practical way of shading against the sun.

St Mary's, Castlegate
At 47 metres, the highest church steeple in York. The Perpendicular octagonal spire and second storey is set on a square lower storey. The church was restored by the Dean of York in 1870, but deconsecrated in 1958. It is now a modern art centre.
