An estate agent's desirable property
Above the windows of this estate agents in Colliergate is a rather nice Georgian building with a rainwater head dated 1748. A typical York city street with a mixture of building styles and dates.

York cats 4
One of a series of photographs to record all the cats that are a feature of York city centre. This is the second one spotted on the outside of Barnitts shop in Colliergate, but unlike others in the city, this one is just an image on the shop front. There are at least 4 other cats within a hundred metres of this point.

The Shambles, York
Officially known as 'Shambles', the Shambles is a very narrow old street in York with some overhanging buildings and quaint shops unique to York. This photograph was taken very early in the morning so it wasn't full of the usual tourists.

York cats 2
One of York's 'wall cats'. This one is above the entrance to Barnitt's hardware shop on Colliergate. Nearly 12 years after taking this photograph I set out to discover all the other cats in York city centre, so this one has been retitled as York cats 2, and is now one of a series.
