Three Cranes, St Sampson's Square, York
The pub's origins lie in the mid C18th, according to the listing, but its present appearance owes much to a remodelling of 1933 which left us with a ground floor of glazed tiles and rough cast upper storeys. Grade II listed.

Part of The Shambles, York
Today much of The Shambles looks pretty much like a fairly typical street in an old city (with little boutique shops and tea rooms etc), but one section in its middle has the overhanging timber-framing and looks so like a movie-set that it must be the genuine article.
