Bangers and Cash
The long established classic car auction house belonging to the Matthewson family in Thornton le Dale has moved up a gear in recent years due to the business and family starring in a TV series called 'Bangers and Cash'. Usually some interesting cars to be seen on the forecourt and many others in storage at the rear. An ideal place for 'anoraks' such as this contributor.

John Ginger
First baked in the mid 19th century, around the time that Queen Victoria opened the Great Exhibition, Huntley & Palmer's ginger nuts were always promoted by the quaint and colourful John Ginger character. John Ginger is seen here on an enamel sign near the motor museum in Thornton-le-Dale.
