Walking the Howardian Hills and beyond #173
Well it's 5-15 and in plenty of time to catch my bus back to Hull at 6-30. I think I've walked 47 squares and taken 279 photos. Do not know how many miles I have walked today, but my feet are telling me 20. Thank you for joining me on my walk today.

A distant view of Malton
Taken from approximately 10km distance, the spire of St Leonard's Church is easily visible just right of centre, whilst the tower of St Michael's in the town centre is less easy to spot further to the left. Although Norton is closer to the camera, it is hidden below the ridge in the middle distance.

Founded in the 12th Century as a Chapel-of-Ease to the Gilbertine Priory at Old Malton, this church was transferred by way of gift as an ecumenical gesture of goodwill from the Church of England to the Roman Catholic Church in 1971.
