Former corn exchange Malton
Erected as a corn exchange in 1845 but never really functioned as such, being more used as public meeting rooms and a recruiting/hiring hall. In 1914 it became a cinema, later known as the Palace Theatre and is currently both a cinema and shopping complex. See - http://www.dickensmalton.org/history/corn-exchange.asp

Busy street in Malton
York Road becomes Old Malton Road at the traffic lights just ahead.
The street to the right is Railway street and leads to the station.
Malton is a place of some antiquity and the streets are not suited to modern traffic.
Fortunately the A64 now by-passes this formerly notorious bottleneck on the road from York and Leeds to Scarborough.
