The Nag's Head Pub in York
This pub is situated on Micklegate, an area of town with a high concentration of hostelries. This used to be a Tetley's house and I spent a torrid couple of months working as a barman here in my late teens.

The Rattle Owl, Micklegate
An unusual name for a restaurant. See Image
The property at 102-104 Micklegate dates from the early 18th century although Roman remains have been found beneath the cellar, and it is listed grade 2* (list entry 1257300).
Next to it is the Army Recruitment Office, and in front is a set of cycle stands.

Good Beer Guide-listed public house near the top of Micklegate. Counter right, eating and drinking areas front, left and back. Walls are decorated in subdued colours, with framed beer labels, photos and prints. Seven cask ales were on offer at my visit.
