The Bull & Sun pub and the northern side of the Bayle Museum are seen here from Baylegate. The museum is housed in this former gate-house that once served as a guardhouse-cum-gateway into the previously extensive Priory estate and therefore visitors choosing not to visit the museum can simply opt to pass through the arched gateway into Church Green by taking half-a-dozen paces. There were houses lining this narrow street leading to the Priory until the early 1900’s. The Bull and Sun pub is apparently the only public house of this name in England of this name.

A row of well proportioned early 19th century houses overlooking Church Green. Nice door cases and windows, and with 'railway slate' roofs rather than the more usual pantiles.

With the entrance to the remaining part of Bridlington Priory, that now functions the Priory Church of St. Mary, Bridlington (a.k.a. Bridlington Priory Church), behind the photographer, this is a view of Church Green. This green space was previously used for sheep fairs and other miscellaneous village activities. Arectory was built on the corner in 1971. In the distance (behind the sawn-off tree in the central flower bed) is the parish hall). The former principal entrance/exit in and out of the extensive priory estate - now the Bayle (gateway) Museum - is out of sight but ahead to the right.
