Finished harvesting
The field is just south of Garth End Farm shown in Image The flat land was occupied by Lake Pickering immediately after the last glaciation. This area was fully drained in the 19th century resulting in productive arable land. The Wolds escarpment is in the background, in this case Staxton Wold.
