This unassuming building was key to the improvement of Scarborough's sewage treatment when it was built c.1990 to pump large amounts of sewage to a new treatment works Image instead of it being discharged to sea via a short outfall pipe Image It was extended again c.2012 to take more of the town's sewage and eliminate discharge from overflows in all but extreme storm conditions.
