Portal to Plantation Hill
Plantation Hill is a private drive which links Somerset Terrace and The Valley, down through Valley Gardens. The portal structure was designed by W. Rickaby about 1927 in an adaptation of the Queen Anne style. Plantation Hill has a number of delicate iron arches carrying lamps.

Woodend, Scarborough
At the south end of The Crescent, this is the former home of the Sitwell family. The house is now used as a creative workspace, with an art and craft gallery (free admission) which is open Monday to Friday.

Junction of Valley Bridge Parade and Somerset Terrace
The road running across the photograph is Valley Bridge Parade with Somerset Terrace going off to the left. The terrace of houses and shops is off about 1865-70 although the red brick building is later ie 1920s. The low buildings around the planter are the portal entrance to Plantation Hill with shelters on the left in an adaptation of the Queen Anne style by W. Rickaby, about 1927.
