Scarborough Central Tramway
This is the upper station of the funicular railway that runs down to Foreshore Road; it was opened in 1881 and is still operated by the same corporate entity - making it oldest surviving cliff railway company in the country. Winter opening hours are limited but it was operating on this Sunday just before Christmas - with the last service at 4.45pm. At one time there were five cliff railways at Scarborough, only two of which now survive.
