Part of the boundary wall to Tettenhall Towers (now a college)
The sandstone wall here on the southeast side of Wood Road forms part of the boundary of the grounds of the Tettenhall College; it dates from the early 19th century when the fine house of Tettenhall Towers was being refurbished or extended after 50-odd years of its existence. The gateway between the stone pillars here once had a wooden gate on it, but that's been removed and replaced by masonry; the whole wall was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101292853-gates-gatepiers-and-garden-wall-to-tettenhall-towers-tettenhall-wightwick-ward#.YebuHv7P3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1292853 in 1977, along with the lodge and gateway at the far end.
