Detail on The Golden Eagle
Detail of the pub sign on the Golden Eagle. Clearly it was built in the mid 1920s, and was apparently contemporaneous with the Courtaulds factory on the opposite side of Hordern Road, which opened in the same year.

The Wildside Activity Centre (detail), Wolverhampton
This is by the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal north of Hordern Road Bridge. http://www.wildsideac.co.uk/ From their website: Our mission at Wildside is to provide enjoyment of the outdoors by offering adventurous and health-giving activities, whilst promoting an underlying appreciation of the environment. Our philosophy is that we explore and enjoy the outdoors, providing opportunities for challenge, learning and personal development. Throughout we try to foster respect for the environment, and seek to care for it, to promote continued enjoyment of our planet for future generations. We are in a green oasis on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. Out of our windows you will see woodland, meadow and excellent aquatic and waterside habitats; all this provides ample opportunities for exciting and stimulating activities. We operate our narrowboat “The Trebalisa” to provide school excursions and trips for all ages and to promote awareness and use of the canal.
