South Staffordshire Railway Walk at Wombourne
The railway closed in 1965. Much of the track bed from Wolverhampton to Kingswinford is now a leisure route, and is popular for horse riding and cycling. The two intrepid cyclists on this cool and breezy December morning have enjoyed coffee at the former Wombourne (Bratch) Station, now a tea room especially popular on summer weekends.

Former railway bridge over Bratch Lane, Wombourne
This bridge carried the relatively short lived (opened 1925, closed to passengers 1932 and completely 1965) railway that passed through Wombourne, providing a useful way for freight trains to avoid congested routes around Wolverhampton, Birmingham, and the Black Country. Most of the route has been converted to a very pleasant footpath and cycleway.
