Grazing on Colton Hills, Staffordshire (just)
About 12-15cm of snow fell the previous day, and temperatures had been down as low as -12°C overnight, staying below freezing during the day. Although the low cloud was in the process of dissipating to reveal blue skies, the temperature was still well below zero at the time of the image, 11:33 GMT. This horse was on his way to join his two friends by the hedge! Image]

Although the low cloud was in the process of dissipating to reveal blue skies, the temperature was still well below zero at the time of the image, 11:32 GMT. One horse in particular was delightfully friendly and gentle - affectionate even, and I felt really guilty that I had no treats for him. ;-( (Stop being sentimental, Whiskers!)
