Houses on Fellows Street, Blakenhall
I have always imagined that this immaculately presented set of terraced houses was built for the employees of S J & E Fellows, whose factory at least was near to the bottom of Fellows Street, but I have never been able to establish whether this was actually the case. The trees whose shadows have created intricate patterns on the road surface line the southern boundary of Graiseley Park.

Plane trees in Graiseley Park, Wolverhampton
Fellows Street is on the left. The magnificent trees in Graiseley Park appear to be a similar age to the set four-unit house terraces, from around the turn of the nineteenth century. They should be good for another hundred years or more!

Fellows Street is on the left. Stanford Road is at the far end (west) of the park. The magnificent mature plane trees in this pleasant park appear to be of a similar age to the terraced housing (blocks of four), from around the turn of the nineteenth century.

Houses on Stanford Road, Blakenhall
This part of Blakenhall is characterised by housing constructed mostly in the 1930s in various styles. The terrace of four houses seen here, on the corner of Milford Road, was distinctive in that it originally had curved glass at the outer ends of the semi bay windows, though in all cases this has been replaced with twin sections of flat glass. In their current form, these houses blend in far more with their more conservatively architectured neighbours.
