Phoenix Park is a well maintained area of park land with an enclosed adventure playground with climbing apparatus, a football pitch and other facilities including a recently installed superloo! There are also several pieces of exercise apparatus which are free to use, and the path shown is marked every hundred metres to assist runners and joggers in their programmes. The park occupies the site of a former brick works. The local community has been fully involved in recent development of this park. http://www.phoenix-park.org.uk/

This park is well looked after, and much credit must go to the local people who care about this attractive public park.
The land here was a coalmine and brickworks for hundreds of years, until becoming a park for the people of Blakenhall in the 1960s.
