New restaurant in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton
This is a multicultural area of Wolverhampton which has been undergoing very extensive regeneration for several years. The nearby Blakenhall Gardens housing development is now well under way. Here, the Lakshmi, a new Asian restaurant and take-away (and sweet centre) has been built next to the carpet and bed showrooms. I presume the restaurant is connected to the long established Lakshmi Sweet Centre Ltd.

Shops and housing in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton
Dudley Road. This is a multicultural area of Wolverhampton which has been undergoing very extensive regeneration for several years. Here by Phoenix Street the terrace still includes a mixture of small businesses and private houses. From the shops shown you can buy some Asian sweets, or a rather lovely sari.

Private Housing - Ranelagh Road
Ranelagh Terrace was built in 1879 in the newly developing Blakenhall area between the Penn Road and Dudley Road. The archway provided an access to the 'Why Knott' Inn which probably fronted onto the Dudley Road.
