Saintsbury's, Wolverhampton
After St George's church closed in the 1980s, it was bought by J Sainsbury plc, who built a supermarket adjacent to it and used the church building to house the cafe, toilets and magazine counter. Seen from this angle, the church looks like some sort of mirage caused by the partially obscuring trees, but it is real enough. My then partner always referred to this supermarket as Saintsbury's, hence the title.

Rainbow over Sainsbury's, Wolverhampton
In St George's Parade, the rainbow was seen over Sainsbury's on the day when Tesco announced a 12% drop in profits, and Sainsbury's announced a slight rise! So where is the pot of gold?

Sainsbury's, Wolverhampton
This is the monstrosity that Sainsbury's were allowed to attach to the Victorian architecture of St George's Church when they converted it to a supermarket in 1988.
