Aldenham Park main house
A classical late 17th century house, originally the seat of the Acton family, which was much altered in the 19th century. For many years it was the home of the 1st Baron Acton, MP for the Borough of Carlow in Ireland and a noted historian and writer in the late 19th century http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Dalberg-Acton,_1st_Baron_Acton The building is Grade II* listed

Aldenham Park, Morville
Standing at the end of a grand lime-lined avenue (Image]), the house is rather anti-climactic. Of grey sandstone, the sashes all unfortunately replaced by plate glass windows. Begun in 1691 for Sir Edward Acton, the architect might have been William Taylor, a carpenter from London. Grade II* listed.
